Dr. Zouhair from Bagdad with his poster, which is larger than he is!

Dr. Ariela Sofer from George Mason University with her poster (this being her first trip to Turkey)

Jeff Smith and Jan Twomey were a dynamic duo leading the roundtable on sabbaticals

Alice with Dr. Zeki Yilmaz of Kayseri - Zeki is on the Board of Trustees of the Kadir Has Foundation and was the reason that Kadir Has University hosted the workshop in such fine fashion
Our boat for the Bosphorus Cruise (Kuzey - North  - Bahri)

Mustafa (back in Istanbul after his stint in LA), Dr. Tarek Orgen (of Auburn and Istanbul) and Dr. Orhan Dengiz (man of the world)

Alice with some of the Iraqis on the boat - Dolmabahce Palace in the background

Randy and Alice on deck

Lu Ann Sims, Jeff and Kristi Smith (all of Auburn) enjoying the sights

Orhan and Rym are happy to see each other again

View of the boat deck - dancing took place later there but I was too busy getting down to get any pictures!

Another working day - Kadir Has University hosted us again for a day of panels, poster sessions and networking.  However, the evening was a private boat trip along the Bosphorus with dinner.  Beautiful weather favored us for this event.  The evening started with drinks and nibbles as we cruised up (North) along the Bosphorus passing under the first bridge and went all the way to the second bridge.  At that time, the sun was about down so dinner was served in the lower level.  This was a beautiful dining room and we had meze and freshly caught and grilled sea bream (one whole fish per person).  Afterwards, folks went up on deck and the dancing began.  Turkish dancing is challenging (at least to me) at the best of times and a rollicking ship added another dimension.  The evening ended late (of course!) but happily for everyone.  The photos tell it better than my poor words...
